Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the standards and restrictions for projects submitted to Eric's 3D Services. We reserve the right to refuse any project, at our sole discretion, that we believe violates the law, safety standards, or our company values.
Note: If an order is submitted that violates this policy, it will be cancelled immediately. If production has already begun, the customer may be held liable for material costs incurred.
Prohibited Manufacturing
We strictly prohibit the use of our services for the production of the following items:
-
1. Firearms and Weaponry
Functional firearms, firearm components (including but not limited to frames, receivers, magazines, or silencers), or any parts intended to bypass weapons regulations. This includes "ghost gun" components and items that violate the Undetectable Firearms Act. We also prohibit parts for explosives or other lethal weaponry.
-
2. Intellectual Property Infringement
Copyrighted or trademarked material where the customer does not have verifiable authorization from the rights holder. We will not print proprietary designs, logos, or characters for commercial resale without proof of license.
-
3. Illegal Items
Any item that is illegal to possess, manufacture, or distribute in Saint Albans (Maine), the United States, or the customers specific jurisdiction. This includes drug paraphernalia or tools designed specifically for criminal activity.
-
4. Counterfeits & Deceptive Items
Items intended to deceive others, such as counterfeit currency, fake identification, forged badges, or replicas designed to be passed off as authentic high-value goods.
-
5. Hate, Violence, & Harassment
Items that promote, facilitate, or encourage violence, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. We will not manufacture "trophies" or symbols of hate groups.
-
6. Critical Aerospace & Medical Components
Components intended for use in aerospace, aviation, or life-critical medical applications. Eric's 3D Services is a specialized hobbyist and prototyping shop; we do not operate in a certified ISO/AS9100 environment. We cannot guarantee the material traceability or structural certifications required for these high-risk industries.
Restricted Content (Case-by-Case)
Sexually Explicit Content: We generally do not print sexually explicit material. However, we may consider requests for anatomical models, classical art reproductions, or educational tools on a case-by-case basis, provided they do not violate local obscenity laws.
Right to Refuse
Eric's 3D Services remains the final arbiter of what is acceptable for our machines. If a design appears to be "borderline" or unsafe for our specific equipment (e.g., designs that may cause machine damage or release toxic fumes), we will cancel the order and provide a full refund if production has not yet started.
Reporting & Legal Compliance
If we receive a request to print items that we believe suggest an immediate threat to public safety or a violation of federal law (specifically regarding illegal firearms), we reserve the right to report such requests to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
